This whole menage-a-trois started with a credit card charge from Audible.com. After talking to a CSR at the company, it seems yours truly signed up for a ”free” trial. Then, did not download anything and forgot to cancel the subscription. Before you cancel, use the three credits you have accumulated, suggested the rep.
I was hesitant. The write-ups didn’t give my Kindle rave reviews for its audio quality, which seemed logical since nobody thought to add a backlight for night reading. (Thank you. I know about the K-Fire.) My audio experience was CD based and usually limited to the morning commute. The thought of tossing three freebies into cyber-wasteland gnawed my thriftiness.
I took the leap. And OMG it’s a love affair. Audible, Kindle, and me. The audio quality is better than great and I can tote my entire library everywhere. As a slower than average reader, audio books are the perfect fit. There’s nothing better than hearing an author read his or her own work. The selection seems endless. And to think it all started with my failure to cancel. My bad never turned out so good.
