I wouldn’t count myself among the techno-challenged, nor do I qualify for membership on the geek squad. But about six years ago, I bought an mp3 player. A Creative ZEN Nano, Model DAP-FL0009. I loaded that puppy with great workout music from iTunes and walked, jogged, and ellipiticalled (is that a word?) to some jumping songs. Ah, but when the workouts went bye-bye so did the ZEN. It got lost in my “gonna get to that” stack, for years. Up until a couple of weeks ago.
Eureka. And since I was back on the workout kick, I was thrilled to find my music. I came across the Nano, as I searched blindly for, well, something else. Shoved the blue jewel into my pocket as a replace-battery reminder. Yep, that trick worked. When the MP3 tumbled out the door of my front loading washing machine, the battery came to mind.
Crap. I would have been happier if it just stayed lost. Frustrated with me, I tossed it on top of the washer, a few days. Until yesterday. Useless as it seemed, I changed the battery. And voila. It worked. Yep. Lost for years. Dead battery. Laundered in a front loader with soap and softener. Laid to rest. And resurrected.
Today works like a new one. Now don’t try this at home. You may not be so lucky as I. But my Creative ZEN Nano has given me a ZENzational (sorry) experience.
